LAGOS STATE GETS NEW COMMISSIONER OF POLICE



Lagosians should prepare for a new dawn in policing as the Nigeria Police Force has announced the posting of Garuba Umar who was newly promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police as the new head of the Lagos Command Headquarters.

Umar was recently promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police from his role as the Officer-in-Charge of Inspector-General of Police monitoring unit alongside other eight senior Police officers decorated with new ranks.

The new Commissioner of Police is not new to Lagos as he once served as the Divisional Police Officer, Ikoyi, Lagos. He also served as the Mobile Police Unit 19 Commander in Port Harcourt since he joined the Force.

 On the other hand, CP Fatai Owoseni, who became Lagos Commissioner of Police in July 2015, has been posted to the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos.
