FOUR MEN ON TRIAL OVER BULLYING A TEENAGE CHRISTIAN CO-WORKER

Four men are on trial in York over an alleged sustained campaign of bullying against a teenage Christian co-worker.
The men, including the alleged victim’s manager, are alleged to have bullied the boy between July 2014 and April 2015 -  using the teenager’s faith as a lynchpin for their mocking, The Yorkshire Post reports.

They allegedly tied him to a chair and paraded him through the street, gave him a wedgie and daubed crosses all over his body.
The alleged victim also claims he was taped to a board in a “crucifixion”.
As part of working for the firm, the youngster was required to travel across Yorkshire, the South East and London to work on shop re-fittings with a team that included the accused.

The accused allegedly targeted the victim on these trips, with the alleged bullying filmed on mobile phones.
The accused have told the court the alleged bullying was “banter” however, the prosecutor told the court: “From an early stage with this team he was subjected to acts of bullying that went beyond anything that could be described as banter or high-jinx in the workplace.”
The trial continues.  (HR)
