It has been disclosed that Hajia Abibata Nnaba Sluwu mother of President John Mahama has passed away.
Sources close to the family in Busunu in West Gonja where the President’s mum comes from say she passed away Tuesday night.
It is unclear what may have caused the death of the woman popularly known as Hajia though it was speculated that it could be due to old age.
Abibata Sluwu is survived by six children including the President.
It is also learned that the family of the woman in Busunu are yet to be officially notified as tradition demands but sympathisers have began gathering at the traditional home of the first gentleman's mother.
Her body will be flown to Busunu from Accra today for burial in accordance with Islamic tradition.
