President Muhammadu Buhari has returned the 2016 appropriation bill to the National Assembly for the third consecutive time for further legislative work.
This was due to some discrepancies he discovered on the copy sent to him.
The amended budget was sent to the president at about 1: 15am on Tuesday but was returned to the National Assembly at about 12.00 noon Tuesday.
It was also gathered that principal officers and members of the review committee from both legislative chambers met at about 3.20pm till about 5.30pm in the Senate wing to rectify the observations made by the president on the budget.
Meanwhile, Senate leader, Ali Ndume had earlier disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari was expected to sign the 2016 budget by Friday, stating that the issues causing the conflict between the National Assembly and the Presidency had been resolved, thereby necessitating the President to assent to the document.
