No less than six men suspected to have captured an oil tanker off the bank of Cote d'Voire, were Monday, paraded by the Nigerian Navy in Lagos state.
Parading the associates, the Chief with Naval Training and Operations, Rear Adm. Henry Babalola, told newsmen that the capture was made after a savage firearm fight with maritime powers that left a suspect dead.
Babalola said the suspected privateers were captured around Sao Tome after the pack had commandeered the vessel off the bank of Cote d'voire.
By the time the security strengths got to the commandeered vessel, two group individuals, an Indian and a Pakistan, had been grabbed and taken away by two of the posse individuals.
"The ruffians, in the wake of locating the maritime boats, declined to surrender, close defeat the oil tanker and opened flame on the security operators. It was by then the expired privateer was gunned down on the grounds that he left the boat to stand up to the boarding party," the Naval boss included.
Babalola further expressed that the operation was composed from the maritime home office in Abuja, recognizing Naval officers in the neighboring nations for their collaboration
Babalola cautioned privateers to cease from such illicit acts or face critical results.
The skipper of the commandeered tanker, Capt. Prilliea Krishna, begged the Navy powers to locate the two team individuals being held prisoner by the pack.
Krishna, be that as it may, communicated thankfulness to the Nigerian Navy for acting the hero.
